This may be the first elephant. Not really sure, I had built myself a few crappy bikes and one really good one around this time. (The good one got wiped out by oncoming traffic early in its life) I think this is the first one I built for someone else. I got some tube sets from either Gary Fisher or C.K. ,they were slated for some Fishers and/or Mountain Bikes™ that never got built. One was pre-mitered to old school specs and I built it as is, the pictured bike was custom geometry. Unfinished fillet brazing (not bad) and a couple of cosmetic things that always bugged me a little. For all intents and purposes, lets call this number one.
The other one, the one built with the pre-mitered tubes, was the same color so likely built at the same time. It passed through a friend, two cousins, and eventually an uncle. There may or may not be an medium jade green metallic bike with Phil Wood hubs at a Goodwill in Reno, or maybe Arizona.
